Jim: the plain English meaning of what they are saying is that they are claiming ownership. Even if they were were talking about responsibility that is just as evil because (1) children are the responsibility of their parents and and their parents alone (2) claiming responsibility is claiming the right to interfere if that which you claim to be responsible for has a “problem”. “Speaking as Maori”, if that is what they are doing, is no justification for totalitarianism.

Home schooling is a job, although I would prefer to describe it as part of the career which parenthood is.

Having one parent homeschooling and one earning is an excellent model.

I’ve had a look at your site and it looks interesting.
