Yes, you read that right. Allow me to explain, using the situation of my friends to illustrate (I would suggest that you read my previous post first, that way this one will make a lot more sense).
We’ll call them the Bloggs family and they live on a busy road where the hazards consist of cars and undesirable persons. Little Joe Bloggs is their seventh child and he was two when smacking was made illegal. Like all two year olds, he liked to explore and would leave the fenced back yard when given an opportunity to do so.
If smacking was legal little Joe would have received a smack when he left the back yard without permission. The way of nature is that children learn through pain, and a smack would have taught Joe that leaving the back yard was the wrong thing to do. The trifling and transitory pain of a smack would have saved him from the far greater pain of kidnap or of being hit by a car.
When smacking was made illegal the Bloggs family were left without an effective method of teaching Joe that it was unsafe to leave the back yard, and they had to resort to elaborate methods of securing it to keep Joe in.
Sue Bradford and the Liberal Left self righteously proclaim that they have made the world a safer place for children by outlawing smacking. They are actually making it more dangerous for children now and in the future. Thanks Sue.
